S. Teodoro Martire. One week of feasting the patron saint San Teodoro. A religious and folkloristic event, including the ballo del santo, during which the people let the statue of the saint dance to the music of the brass band. The first 3 evenings (August 8 to 10) there will be performed the stry of the chiseller Gramigna and his wife L'amante de Gramigna, adapted and directed by Giovanni Ielo. August 11 to 13 is scheduled I Malavoglia, in a version by the artistic director of the festival Pasquale Scimeca.
During the night from Ausut 13 to 14 will be dedicated to local food, musics and theatre performances in the historic center. August 18, the spectators can see a calssic like Cavalleria rusticana, an adaption of the famous Sicilian opera into a theatre piece with musics by Turi Mancuso and Turi Giordano. There will be also a series of film screenings from Augsut 20 to 26, beginning with Mastro don Gesualdo by Giacomo Vaccari

Porticciolo della Balata - Marzamemi (Siracusa)
Tuna Fish Fest. Festival of the tuna fish with conferences, screenings of old documentaries on the tuna fishing, degustations, open air dancing and music. Marzamemi is a small town at the seaside in the province of Siracusa. It looks back to a long tradition of tuna fishing and has a charming port area. The old tuna fish factory at the small harbour now is closed, but the village still partly lives on tuna products and cultivates the tradition.
